Q: Is indoor tanning "safer" than tanning outdoors?
A: The tanning process, whether outdoors in the sun, or indoors in a sun bed, is essentially the same, and carries some risk. But, tanning indoors provides the benefit of a controlled environment so you can avoid the dangerous effects of sunburn while enjoying the many proven benefits of moderate UV exposure. For more information about some of these benefits, please refer to our 'Links" section.
Q: I've never tanned in a sunbed before -- what do I need to know?
A: When you come for your first tan, we will show you everything you need to know about the beds, instruct you in the correct use of protective eyewear, and guide you in the proper amount of exposure for you based on your skin type and history. Building a 'base tan' slowly is the safest way to tan. We are here to answer your questions and concerns. We love new tanners and look forward to serving you!

Q: What about indoor tanning lotions ---are they really necessary?
A: Of course, you will get some color without using a lotion, but you will not get the same results that you would when using a specially formulated indoor tanning product. Indoor tanning lotions enhance the tanning process through skin conditioning, moisturization and UV ray magnification. They help you to acquire a deeper, longer lasting tan while protecting the moisture level of your skin and nourishing it with superior skincare ingredients such as shea butter, hemp seed oil, aloe vera and evening primrose oil. We at Sunsations recommend the use of indoor tanning and after tan lotions as a way for you to get the most out of your tanning experience - your skin will thank you!
